Get Ready for Leeds Alt-Rock Trio Kath & The Kicks Brand New Single

Leeds-based volcanic alt-rock trio, Kath & The Kicks, released their new single, ‘I’m Alive’ on 21st May, the latest slab of almighty thunder and deft, twisted gutter-garage-blues which has seen them receive plaudits from the likes of Louder than War and Radio X.

Dedicated to empowering listeners to take control of their lives, stand up for what they believe in and encourage them to talk about issues, ‘I’m Alive’ is the band’s fourth single and looks to cement them as one of the UK’s most enthralling acts, both live and in the studio.

Kath & The Kicks are Kath Edmonds (Vocals & Guitar), Shaneen Mooney (Bass) and Matt Larkin (Drums), though you could be forgiven for thinking there are at least one or two other members, given the noise and dextrous interplay between them.

Kath’s 1st class honours degree in drums and composition being something which no doubt has some bearing on the volume the three manage to achieve. Already emerging out of lockdown with gigs lined up later in the year, Kath and the Kicks are one of the raging fires in UK rock.

“I’m Alive” is a song dedicated to the realisation and beauty of life. As we come out of lockdown and embrace the world in a different way, “I’m Alive” is a reminder to connect with everything around you; to realise the awesome power of life and to make the most of the opportunity you have with your own time. The song is one of transformation, empowerment, owning your own life the way you want to live it and allowing positivity to be present around you at all times. After the global pandemic and people being unable to be in each other’s company and do the things that they love, “I’m Alive” is an anthem to take us into the summer months with power, joy and transformational uplift.”
